first spam comment

hello.

lorlilorsor.com has its first spam comment.

here is what it looks like.

spam

i thought i’ll make this an educational blog post by describing why spam exists, and at the same time expose to the world what in the world i have been doing, staying “jobless” after having graduated for 4 months.

well basically in the comment above, the bugger is trying to promote his little page on his free friendster blog by spamming my poor little lorlilorsor.

while nobody is really going to click on an obviously spammy link like that, a link is still a link, and a link makes the search engines deem that page important.

this might seem incredibly nonsensical and unworthy of the effort to the naked eye, but spammers create thousands of email addresses and spam thousands of blogs on autopilot (hence the weird email addresses) which will result in a substantial number of backlinks getting approved.

so when you actually get onto the page that he’s promoting and buy what’s on the page (some variation of viagra i think) he gets paid.

the probability of that happening is super duper small but when something like this happens thousands and thousands of times, it becomes a numbers game and someone is bound to buy.

makes sense?

end of lesson.

up next: wtf kang kang has been up to and why he has been missing in action for so long
