It was a great channel for me to whine and swoon about the world.

I wrote here the most when i was between 22 to 24, when i was still a relatively young man.

Now, at the ripe old age of 27, my worldview has changed so much, and so have many things around me.

Campaigns by HPB etc only focus on the mechanics of quitting.

iPhone apps, getting nerdy doctors to explain the cons of smoking, giving out pamphlets etc.

Smokers smoke because they think they look cool smoking.

Nerdy geeks explaining why smoking is bad only leaves smokers chiding “look at that nerdy virgin, what does he know about life?”

The way to get people to quit smoking is to convince them that NOT smoking can be cool, and save them a ton of cash as well.

All campaigns should focus on that.

When there is the will and determination to quit, the mechanics of quitting are drop-dead easy.

I give up and conclude that this is probably why extramarital affairs never seem to go undiscovered for long.

At hilton hotel, one Ang moh walks out of mulberry with a salesperson, raises his arms, points at two mulberry bags and utters nonchalantly “this two models”.

And he’s done with the purchase.

Okay, so I admit I wasn’t at my best but I ought to be forgiven because it was parallel parking and I was driving a SUV and both the front and back cars didn’t leave me with much space and to add salt to the wound there is this kerb that pretty much completes the challenge.

The funny thing is how this funky ah beng actually 1. Get into his car 2. Whips out his pen 3. Writes the message on his parking coupon 4. GETS OUT OF THE CAR and sticks it on my window.

Jia ba ka eng?

Once I finished tearing my coupon fatimah came to the car right next to me and started keying into her lethal weapon.

Me and rav4 were like awww, poor guy, never put coupon…

Then this ah beng-like man started walking out from the hawker centre. We thought he was the owner of the car and were wondering why he was walking so relaxedly.

Apparently he is the owner of the car next to the one that kena.

He came to the car and spoke to fatimah.

Ah beng: what.
Fatimah: expired.

Ah beng takes his own coupon and places on the victim’s windscreen.

Fatimah looks at ah beng.

Ah beng looks at fatimah.

Fatimah walks away.

Ah beng gets into his car, drives off.

I AM SO ASHAMED OF MYSELF.

How come the thought of helping the guy never even crossed my mind?

I hereby promise that I will help the next guy that kenas if I can help.

ok lah, last adventure for 2009, i guess.

2009 has been a ballin’ year.

kang kang is thankful for many many things.

1. passing all his exams and getting through fyp unscathed.

once again, i want to say what i always think to myself at the end of the last paper for the semester in nus..

“free at last.. free at last.. god almighty I’M FREE AT LAST!!”

and this time, i’m really, really free!!

but shite, kang kang misses school now.

kang kang doesn’t miss exams, but he sure misses school

2. having the balls to REALLY not get a job.

people are still skeptical about kang kang’s decision.

he has had a pretty decent engineering job opportunity – REALLY decent, given his grades. (hint: connections, connections..)

oh well.

kang kang sux in many ways.. but thinks that one of his strongest points is that he’s damn sure about what he wants.

3. having had 3 favorite gadgets in this world: the sony ericsson w810i, blackberry bold, and the iphone. now, i’ve owned them all.

if you’re a girl or hate technology, like rav4, you will never understand how i feel.

this car ain’t got wheels.

instead, she bakes cakes.

she is so stupid sometimes, and scolding her is so much fun.

but still, kang kang is even stupider sometimes, so we have two stupid people scolding each other stupid things over stupid reasons.

jokes aside, stupid fools who start their own businesses eat grass half their lives.

so having someone supportive of their grass-eating antics..

is a really, really wonderful  thing indeed.

2010 will be a challenging year.

a defining year.

whatever happens to kang kang for the rest of my life pretty much depends on how 2010 turns out.
