Okay this is gonna be long.

First of all a recap of my new year resolutions for year 2005!

“1. First of all, I’m gonna PASS MY FREAKIN’ DRIVING TEST on the 12th of Jan.
2. Start checking out and for my mini-van; and hopefully get to buy it, latest by end of 2006.
3. Work hard in uni. Must do well man.
4. Play hard in uni as well. Gonna play bball for hall hopefully. Maybe handball. Maybe try my hand at air-pistol too.
5. Save up. Wanna have at least $5000 in personal account by end of 2005. Means that I most probably gotta get a job. Hopefully a job in hostel.
6. Be a better person. Treat people I treasure nicely. Family and my best friends ba.”

1. I passed that frickin driving test. In fact, in 11 days I’d officially be rid of the cumbersome P-plate!
2. Aye, probably not gonna get a Kangoo afterall. Now I prefer Vios
3. I did like shit. ‘Nuff said.
4. Hahah I dunno what happened to this lah, since I didn’t even stay in hall.
5. Well I’m still broke, but I think I’m beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel -_-;;
6. Well treat people I treasure nicely? I dunno if I did. Hahah.

So as you can see, I wasn’t even really serious in making my new year resolutions last year they weren’t even ‘resolutions’.

But still, I guess it was an okay year for me. Lots of things happened. Got to know lots of new people, got in touch with lots of old people too. Learnt new stuff. Experienced new things. Fallen, got back up.

Next year’s gonna be a better one!

Resolutions for 2006
===============

1. I MUST REALLY START PUTTING MORE EFFORT INTO MY STUDIES. I have people around me doing much much better and saying that they have done “like shit”. So what does that make my cap? This can’t go on, boy.

2. I MUST DUNK. C’mon man, I ain’t getting any younger. If I don’t do it soon, I’m never ever gonna be able to make it. Just a few cm more man. To better allow myself to dunk, I must….

3. GROW TALLER. A few more cm can liao. Okay, in what way is this a resolution? Can’t really make myself grow tall can I? Oh well, drink more milk?

4. SWELL MY BANK ACCOUNT. By hook or by crook.

5. LEARN GUITAR. I’ve been saying that for a year now.

6. PROJECT SF. Bm has project SL and I have project SF. Highly secretive, confidential, and extremely sensitive. Aye, it basically means I have to cut down on my favorite foods like chocolate, seafood and rojak

Like all new year resolutions, I’m guessing they still tend to start being forgotten somewhere around February. So I’ve limited this year’s to 6 very, erm… easy-to-remember items. So this year really must fulfil all ah.

Things worthy of attention that happened in 2005

1. I ORDed. The happiest moment in my entire NS life is the day I ORDed. I still remember my cold-blooded papa told me some months back that he teared when his son got onto the evil evil bus that brought us all to the hell-on-earth called Pulau Tekong. My sister said that on the night I left she cried loh ahahahahah!!

Hahah I guess as the eldest son in a family with extremely uptight parents, they tend to worry alot more for me when I progress through the stages in life.

When my brother got enlisted, they didn’t even give a damn. Cos I gave everyone a very complete and detailed summary of what he will be going through from day one onwards. And my family was also spared from the horror and sense of loss of stepping onto that wretched island, for they had me the lao jiao bing as their tour guide.

Well anywayz, I guess NS has made me learnt lots of stuff, like the usual chao genging and acting fierce to protect urself and backstabbing and stuff. So what did I learn about defending the nation? Hmm. Nothing? Nothing PRACTICAL anyway. I doubt that I’d ever have any real need to handle a M16 or LAW tube or grenade or SAW or GPMG. And I hope not -_-;;

Of course, I’ve also met my fair share of unique individuals, great buddies, and er.. weird people.

Stupid AOE shit with xiao shi di. Blackout day when everyone came to rescue us. Sleeping until 1 p.m. when clearing leave. Extremely unlucky encounters during guard duties. Warcraft madness during nights’ off. Fear of madam. The hot-and-humid-like-crazy bunk. The smelly-like-shit toilets. Asking for games everyday at 3 p.m. Physical training for IPPT. Reading and slacking in office when madam is not around. Store-runs. First parade tasks. Being flag party commander for stupid CO parade. 24-7 duties. Suffering shit together. Finding ways to slack together. Getting conned by trusted people.

Ns made me grow, but still, that doesn’t make up for the fact that if there was no NS, I’d be in year 3 student now and I’d be a working adult soon.

2. NS to NUS. See the link? NS? NUS?

As I’ve re-iterated time and time again, I have been extremely lackadaisical in my studies. Well I can tell that some people around me are skeptical about what I say about this and are of the opinion that I did badly purely because I am stupid.

“It’s all about time management.”

Hahah, oh well, that might be the truth. I don’t deny that I haven’t always got my priorities right, and I let my heart rule over my head at times and wasted time doing nonsensical things. And of course, my lack of brilliance is one major factor too.

But next sem shall be better. I hope.

3. New friends at NUS. Shambaa people. Kenny~ Vball party, Alvin, Demure, Eugene, Andy. Of course, acknowledging my new-found stylo-milo biao mei. CTW buddy GY. Fellow slacker jeremy.

4. The OFFICIAL FORMATION of WST haha. I’m just glad this bunch of secondary school classmates have managed to keep in touch after so long. It helps that most of them are in NTU together, keeping their side of the bond strong. Only me and idol are in NUS. And not forgetting the two 19 year olds new members of WST.

Weekly bball and laksa sessions are stuff I look forward to too.

Shit this is getting too long I’m getting tired. If u’re stilll reading this, u must be really bored.

5. Okay. Lastly, of course, my singlehood. Well, haven’t got much to say cos I know she’d be reading this too, so it’s gonna be weird, hahah.

Happy 2006!

Went to THE CHAIRMAN‘s place yesterday for mahjong and ps2 and potluck mini-party with da saddest team.

Man, the his dogs (Pepsi and Milo) started screaming (barking) like mad when they saw me. I think they do that to strangers. Or do I look like a robber?

When I got in they started they started scrambling all over me and snuggling against me and clawing me and licking me while the rest just acted like it’s very normal.

I was like “OEI SOMEONE COME HELP ME CAN, I SCARED OF DOGS ONE LEH!!”

To my dismay, nobody responded. Well that wasn’t entirely the truth lah, I not really scared of dogs but I hate getting licked by them, so dirty!!

When I was having lunch on the sofa Pepsi and Milo were like, sitting there and watching me eat and I felt so funny.

Alvin has a funny reaction whenever they come near him. He just says “fuck off fuck off”, though it doesn’t work at all.

Later on they started fighting over a piece of bone. Me and my kind “mistress” Ivan wanted to get another piece of bone for them so that they can stop fighting but alas, in their violent mood at the moment, they started chasing after Ivan!! I think they didn’t chase me cos Ivan ran but I didn’t.

Damn funny cos Ivan was like jumping up and down and running all over the place while the rest of us were clapping and basically just enjoying the show haha!

Had usual bball today followed by my beloved laksa yong tau foo. Coconut milk alot alot type, damn shiok.

Went for the interview with a heavy heart, due to some unforeseen circumstances, haha.

Ayee, I guess it was pretty shitty and things don’t look good but haha, I guess it’s just as well. I didn’t ask anything throughout the interview and merely answered the questions I was asked.

The person I was supposed to take over gave me lots of hints n tips for the interview beforehand and told me that the person before me was very impressive and enthusiastic and that I have to BEAT him.

Told me that I have to act like I really really want the job and I really really am excited about it. But I am not loh.

“Then go interview for fark??” My mum asks. Okay I added in the fark.

Sheesh I guess I dunno also, ya know, I’m starting to think if I’m taking this as a challenge to myself. It’s a perverse thought I know, but I wanna know if I am better or the indian competitor is better.

But u see ah, $8.52 per hour, think one week about $300 plus, if I work FULL-TIME. But last night I sports betting already win $400 plus. Work so hard for what.

Aiyah dunno lah, they hire me then I work, if not then nevermind loh. Sheesh I’m starting to worry that they will hire me.

But with this screwed up mentality of mine I doubt they’ll give me the job anyways.

Throughout my trip to Holland V today, I’ve been enjoying eye candy galore.

From waiting for bus.

To getting onto the bus.

To bus-stops along the way.

To alighting the bus.

To reaching Holland V.

How come along that stretch of land got so many? I don’t understand. Oh yeah, I even saw Mo Xiao Ling.

Went out on a HOT DATE with bm but she says that going out with bg is not considered a HOT DATE so nevermind -_-;;

Had bball with WST in the morning somemore. Plus the fact that we got home at about 3 a.m. from Shambaa outing, can imagine how tired I was.

After dinner at Swensen’s Orchard started to swarm with people.

People mountain people sea.

There were people spraying snow (read: SOAP) all over the place man. Bm kept managing to dodge off everything but I kena-ed abit by this ah beng behind us. I think he was purposely aiming at both of us loh, budden bm ran away and left me there to die.

There were performances outside Civic Plaza. These were Taiwan tribal performances though I doubt the performers were really from these tribes. And I didn’t know that taiwan tribes ‘worship’ Jesus. Or is it just another example of religion commercialisation -_-;;

Oh yeah, they suddenly started playing TECHNO music and these people in tribal costumes starting dancing to TECHNO music! We were like, wtf??

After squeezing through the disgusting crowd like crazy, we went to Zara where bm tried on some high heeled shoes.

She nearly reached same height as me loh! So tall. Felt so weird. But quite cool lah.

Then we went to er.. play pool. Sigh, pool is really one game I really like but really suck at. Don’t understand why so lousy leh, need someone to teach me properly haha. Bm won me one game~~~

Yeah and then we went home.

And I’m so frickin tired.

Tomorrow I’m gonna sleep until I wake up by myself.

Whoa, I passed everything! What a miracle. Well my cap sucks and my grades suck too, but I’m just super duper glad I passed everything.

Nice Kenny asks me if I’m Okay anot after getting the results. Aiyo, truth be told, I am not only okay, I am sibeh happy loh!!

Okay this sounds like I damn mei chu xi, but I really expected much worse after fooling around so much this sem.

NUS moderation is disgusting, I think. I mean, I really really don’t see how I managed to pass my maths. I did less than a QUARTER of the paper loh. And I don’t even know how much out of that quarter I got right.

Well maybe my assignments and tutorials helped me? No, there are no assignments, and tutorials don’t hafta be handed up.

Maybe my mid term test helped me? Hahaha! I got the super duper gosu score of TWO out of 12 for my mid-term test, lor!

So how did I pass? Beats me.

Well as expected, the highest grades I got was for Critical Thinking and Writing, cos that subject shiok shiok, no need to study one. Haha. B ain’t high, but it’s highest for me.

Next semester must choot power liao, else I die.

Went to collect the jerseys the other day. Wanted to take picture of everyone’s jersey and upload all of them up here. Would be cool, innit?

But as usual, I got lazy. Next time, perhaps. Next time.

Well all we had for the team name was a tiny WST at the lower right corner in front. I thought printing the full name would be fine but the rest said if we did that we won’t dare to wear it anywhere haha.

Yay I finished the book!

Well as usual, a great book. Thumbs up. But somehow dark and grisly details just don’t feel very right. From the ending I think book seven is not going to be pleasant.

I think from The Order of the Phoenix the plot has been getting more and more un-childish and has sort of murderous content. Wonder if we’ll even see much of Hogwarts in book seven.

Bits and pieces of random thoughts…

Okay first of all, I can’t believe Dumbledore is dead. I still don’t 100% believe. Though there’s the funeral and all. And I still don’t believe Snape’s the traitor. I think the Avada Kedavra was fake. Dumbledore is too wise. At least that’s what I think.

Haha, I’m also “Dumbledore’s man through and through.”

I think his death so resembles 3rd Hokage’s death in Naruto.

I think Neville will be a key character in book seven. I think he’d become damn powerful. Might even be a great help to Harry in defeating Voldemort.

I think Draco Malfoy will turn over a new leaf.

I’m looking forward to knowing Harry’s true heritage. When he first got into Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat very nearly placed him in Slytherin. And he’s a Parseltongue.

How exactly is he related to Voldemort?

I think Ginny will end up with Harry. But that doesn’t feel right. I liked the idea of Cho with Harry, but since Cedric’s death, it just ain’t possible no more. And after I saw the movie version of Cho Chang, I don’t really like her anymore -_-;;

Hermione with Ron!

Bill Weasly is cool. I like him. I like Fleur too, but I don’t remember how they got together.

I’m looking forward to the final battle between good and evil. Will Dumbledore be back? Dumbledore plus Harry Potter plus Lupin plus Snap etc vs Voldemort plus his Death Eaters and Giants and Dragons and Dememtors? Woohoo! Too bad Sirius Black is dead. I really liked him.

I thought Voldemort’s history was pretty cool.

But I think the “Half Blood Prince” thing was too shodily done away with. Think they’ll explain more in book seven though.

Looking forward to book Seven.
